At its Millenia Walk location in Singapore, crowdfunding retailer and hub We The People hosted its first-ever livefunding campaign launch party for Sekoni Original. Livefunding was pioneered by We The People and is a combination of a crowdfunding and pre-order campaign with an opportunity for a visitor to preview, experience, and fall in love with the products showcased at physical stores.ย Over 100 people attended the livefunding event to learn more about the campaign.

During the event, attendees were able to meet with the founders of the Tidal Moonphase campaign, test out the watches, and contribute to the campaign in person. They were also able to learn more about crowdfunding in general and explore other crowdfunded projects.

In the era of Amazon, some may say retail is dead. But if you ask the founders at We The People, they’ll say it’s really just evolving. Retail is becoming increasingly more about the in-person experience that can’t be replicated online. Fundamental elements that are unique to physical retail include product vetting to examine product fit or quality, access to credible and physical customer service, and community experiences.

We The People packaged these elements into its livefunding business model to provide the most value for both creators and potential backers / customers. By fulfilling a need for creators to build relationships with their communities and for backers to support or invest without the risks that are crowdfunding platforms have been notorious for, We The People has generated a 94% success rate for crowdfunding campaigns and created more positive experiences for backers.
