Jacob Durham began crowdfunding in 2014, when few had heard of Kickstarter and the only guide through the campaign process was trial and error. He and his cousin, Jon Richards, co-founded NOMATIC and launched their first campaign: a sleek, minimalist wallet that initially gained some traction before losing steam.

Having learned that their brand was their biggest asset, they first sought to build trust through high quality products and customer service, “A big frustration on Kickstarter is that things aren’t delivered on time. Jacob and John also realized early on what takes years for even the most successful companies to truly understand–that no matter how innovative or groundbreaking a product is, a product alone will not sell itself. Through a friend, they were introduced to Facebook ads. With the trust they developed with their customer base and a newfound digital marketing strategy to best connect with the mind of customers, NOMATIC managed to surpass their campaign goal 15 times over.

Upholding these values of quality customer service, functionality, and durability, they insist, is the key to keeping their loyal following satisfied.
